Wednesday was a big night in Brooklyn for Jimmy Kimmel, who welcomed his childhood idol David Letterman to the stage for a long interview.
Kimmel introduced Letterman by saying he was the reason he got into show business — or even owns a TV.
Letterman seemed genuinely moved by (and more than a little uncomfortable with) Kimmel’s obvious bromantic affection, as the two discussed everything from fly fishing to cooking.
The longtime “Late Show” host also graciously welcomed Kimmel to the 11:35 p.m. time slot, where they’ll be directly competing starting in January.
