When Matt Damon appeared on ‘The Early Show,’ he revealed that he’d based many of the mannerisms of his “True Grit” character Texas Ranger La Boeuf on fellow actor Tommy Lee Jones.
“I did a movie in ’94 that Tommy Lee Jones directed,” Damon said. “And I said, ‘Well, what if the guy was similar to Tommy Lee but, unlike Tommy, didn’t really have anything worth saying. He’s all style and no substance.'”
