On “Live With Regis and Kelly,” Morgan Freeman said that he nearly flunked acting class, earning himself a barely passing grade, “I got a ‘D.’ I don’t know why. Well, I do know why. I wasn’t paying attention,” Freeman admitted. Still, the sheer range of acting classes that Freeman took greatly impressed Regis Philbin.
“My acting days got by me,” Philbin said. “I just shied away from it because I didn’t think I’d ever have the talent to get in front of a camera … So, when I hear a guy rattle off all these courses he took, [which] made him a multi-talented person, I envy you.”
But Freeman seems to place more emphasis on natural acting ability. “I don’t think anything makes you multi-talented,” he said. “I think … you are and you can enhance it.”
