On ‘Live With Regis and Kelly,’ Philbin admitted that he’s prone to uncontrollable sneezing and once went out onto the street to spare his wife. While he sneezed wildly over a garbage can, he said, a fan interrupted him without so much as a gesundheit.
“I’ve got a very bad habit,” Philbin said. “Sneezing … When I get into the sneezing fit, I know Joy hates it.”
“So, I got up, walked out the door and stood in the darkness … over a garbage can out there on Third Avenue,” he continued. “And a car pulled right up and the lady rolled her window down and said, ‘Is that you, Regis?'”
