In a rare moment that surprises the ladies of ‘The View,’ Elisabeth Hasselbeck criticizes Sarah Palin for opposing a school lunch bill advocated by First Lady Michelle Obama.
“The Republicans here are actually playing a dirty trick,” Hasselbeck said, explaining that Republicans are trying to add provisions to a bill primarily meant to “help kids get healthy food.” And, she went on, Palin’s mistake is “not accounting for that” fact.
Barbara Walters is so surprised by Hasselbeck’s criticism that she stops the discussion and identifies the day as momentous.
But Joy Behar is quick to point out the motivation for Hasselbeck’s argument. “Elisabeth is a compassionate Republican,” she said. “And that’s what we need more … of, people who have a sense that poor people need help in this country.”
