ABC’s Chris Cuomo gets the first post-trial interview with Rielle Hunter, the former mistress of John Edwards.
In an interview to air next Friday on “20/20,” Hunter speaks candidly about her current relationship with Edwards, his relationship with their daughter Quinn, and what she would have said if called as a witness in his corruption trial. Hunter is out with a book, “What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter, and Me,” which hits store shelves on June 26. That morning, Hunter will appear live on “Good Morning America” and “The View.”
Cuomo’s ABC colleague Bob Woodruff got the interview with Edwards that, in part, touched off the corruption case against him. In that interview in August, 2008 — six months after he dropped out of the race for the democratic nomination for president — Edwards admitted to Woodruff that he had an extended affair with Hunter, but denied he was the father of Quinn.
