Days after the release of GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney‘s controversial private remarks, one of which criticized The View and its co-host Whoopi Goldberg, the actress took to Twitter to challenge the Republican contender on his standpoints and image.
After news broke of Romney stating that Goldberg is “sharp-tongued and not conservative,” the Sister Act star wrote online:
After an hour of tweeting at Romney, she finally called it a day:
Romney is scheduled to appear on The View next month, but as we reported yesterday, it could be an awkward sit-down following his leaked comments about the women on the “high risk” show being “sharp-tongued.” At a private donor party in May, Romney said of the program:
“The View is fine, although The View is high-risk, because of the five women on it, only one [Elisabeth Hasselbeck] is conservative and four are sharp-tongued and not conservative, Whoopi Goldberg in particular. Although last time I was on the show, she said to me, ‘You know what? I think I could vote for you.’ And I said I must’ve done something really wrong.”
Goldberg hasn’t tweeted since last night, so we’re thinking she’s still tired from her Twitter essay.
