Barbara Walters, fresh back from a trip to the White House, gave the ladies of ‘The View’ some napkins emblazoned with the presidential seal, a small token, she said, in case any of them “are doing a little Thanksgiving.” But she gives Sherri Shepherd a personalized gift from President Barack Obama himself that brings her co-host to tears.
Walters presents Shepherd with a copy of Obama’s book ‘Of Thee I Sing,’ which features a note from the President addressed to her five-year-old son Jeffrey. Shepherd’s voice cracks as she reads Obama’s note aloud. Obama-hater Elisabeth Hasselbeck praised Walters for the touching gesture.
