Billionaire developer and ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ host Donald Trump plans to decide by June whether he’ll run for president in 2012. On ‘The View,’ Trump said he thinks the country is in such bad shape that his several messy divorces wouldn’t hinder a presidential bid. And he even thinks he could unseat incumbent Barack Obama.
“You’ve had three marriages, two sort of uncomfortable divorces,” said Barbara Walters. “Do you think that … would bother anybody?”
“I think the country is doing so badly they want somebody that’s going to help it,” replied Trump. “I think the country [has] never been in a position like it is right now.”
Trump also said he’s confident he could beat Obama for the presidency. “If I run and win and get the nomination, I definitely think I could beat Obama,” he said. “We’re doing very, very poorly as a country.”
