Conservative radio host Glenn Beck on Wednesday told a story about how he was ABC News anchor Diane Sawyer’s “little b*tch” until her bias toward Muslims ended the relationship.
“ABC News hired me,” Beck told his radio listeners in a clip posted by Buzzfeed. “Oh, I was Diane Sawyer’s little b*tch. She would call me up. My wife was like, ‘What’s going on with you and Diane Sawyer?’”
Beck said that Sawyer promised him, ‘We’re going to change television, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.”
But the radio host said that he suspected that the civil liberties advocacy group Council on American–Islamic Relations — or CAIR — “said to ABC, ‘You put him on, you don’t isolate him, we’re going to boycott — not [just] ABC — we’re going to boycott ABC and we’re going to boycott your Disney park.’”
“Well, Disney can’t have that,” Beck explained. “All of the sudden, I can’t even get Diane on the phone. I’m like, ‘Hey, what happened? Hello?’ Nothing. Finally about eight months later, she has lunch with me, and she becomes the biggest bigot I’ve ever seen in my life.”
“Don’t even think about what you’re saying, just go with it,” Beck’s sidekick Stu advised, sensing that the show had already gone off the rails. “Whatever comes to your mind, just say it.”
“I’m telling this story because the fact that — these corporations are afraid of extremists,” Beck concluded.
