Jessica Simpson opens up about her surpising second pregnancy on Wednesday’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show,” joking that she got pregnant because ”protection was just thrown out the window.”
“We were definitely extremely shocked,” the singer says about finding out she was expecting again just months after giving birth to daughter Maxwell.
Simpson explains, “Maxwell was our focus and then I was puking and lying on the couch.”
So far, her new pregnancy is drastically different, with the “Fashion Star” mentor recounting how the first time around, she “let loose and kind of ate everything that I wanted to eat.”

“But apparently [fiance Eric Johnson] still wanted me,” jokes Simpson, adding, “I can gain as much weight and I will have a husband-to-be that loves me.”
This time, Simpson says she’s feeling a lot worse.
“I’m like exhausted,” says the star. ”Eating Tums. That’s my snack of choice.”
