Academy Award-winning actor Michael Douglas talked about his struggle with throat cancer on the “Late Show” with David Letterman. Douglas said he found out he had throat cancer three weeks ago, and joked, “Just when I found out I was going to be on your show.” Letterman laughed and said, “No, there can’t possibly be a connection here.”
Douglas revealed that he just finished his first week of radiation and chemotherapy and “that it’s about an eight-week struggle.” Letterman could not believe he had already begun the treatment regimen, saying, “I mean, you’ve never looked better to me and this proves that you’re a tough guy, for God’s sakes,” a comment that got a huge cheer from the audience. Douglas said, “Let’s just say I’m pretty lit up – I’m pretty lit up right now.”
