Tens of thousands of Oprah Winfrey fans are expected to arrive at Chicago’s United Center Tuesday evening for the taping of “Surprise Oprah! A Farewell Spectacular,” which will feature some of the biggest names in music, movies, television and, apparently, sports.
More than 154,000 people requested tickets to the two-show taping, and the lucky ticket winners were asked to be at the United Center by 5 p.m. when doors open. While the guest list is being kept secret–even from Winfrey herself–the rumors are flying, and several high-profile celebrities have been spotted around town.
“As most of our viewers know, being surprised is not one of Oprah’s favorite things,” executive producer Sheri Salata said when announcing the show. “In the spirit of our farewell season, she is making a rare exception and we intend to make the most of that opportunity. It will be something to see!”
The shows will air May 23 and 24.
