Piers Morgan joked about punching Larry King Thursday night on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
Letterman told Morgan that his show would only take off if a guest punched him on-air — or, even better, if he punched a guest.
“You need to grab somebody by the tie and just pop him,” Letterman said. “Just a short right cross and then it would be fantastic.”
“Would it work if it was Larry, or would it be seen a bit too cruel?” he asked, referring to King, whose show he replaced at 9PM on CNN. “Joking!” he said to audience jeers.
“I’d like to see you punch a 78-year-old man,” Letterman said.
The pair also discussed Morgan’s UK newspaper career, his walk on the beach with Rupert Murdoch, and Ricky Gervais’ Golden Globes hosting job.
