Everybody knows Regis Philbin, but that doesn’t seem to be enough to spare him a pat-down at the airport. On ‘Access Hollywood Live’ (weekdays, syndicated), Philbin explained a recent frisking he was given at LAX after his titanium hip replacement set a metal detector off.
Philbin said he tried to tell TSA officials about his fake hip, but he was searched anyway. “I had a hip replacement a couple of years ago, but it’s titanium,” he said. “And, so, the bells go off … I still had to put the hands out. The guy’s going to pat me down and they’re very delicate, you know. I don’t mind anymore. I’m getting to like it.”
