Actor Robert Blake has some choice words for those who arrested and charged him with having a connection with his wife’s murder. In an interview with Piers Morgan, Blake discussed his new book and his childhood — while also being sure to note exactly how he feels about “those rotten, bastard cops.”

In elaborating on his book, Blake noted that he devoted a chapter to the officials who decided he was tied to the murder of his wife, Bonnie Lee Bakley. “I was supposed to die in that cell, wasn’t I, you bastards,” Blake said, going after “those rotten, bastard cops that ripped my guts out and left me beside the road to die.”

In a sort of aside, Blake addressed the cops, adding:

“I didn’t die and you didn’t get your book deal, you mothers. I wrote a book about you! So you have to go out and rip some other celebrity until he’s dead, then you can write a book about him!”

For those unfamiliar, Blake was tried and acquitted of the 2001 murder of Bakley. In 2005, in a civil suit, he was found liable for the wrongful death — later losing his appeal.

The full interview with Blake airs on Morgan’s show Wednesday night.
