The Toddlers & Tiaras star known as “Honey Boo Boo” after her personal catchphrase visited CNN’s Starting Point Tuesday morning to discuss her new reality series and to debut a whole new slogan soon to be seen emblazoned on crop tops all across this great nation.
When asked about the criticism often hurled at pageant parents for dressing their daughters up in sometimes provocative outfits, Honey Boo Boo’s mother, the Grand Boo-ba herself, countered that — if someone sees a child as appearing sexual or sexualized — the issue is with the viewer, not with the child or with the person who put her in the “sexy” outfit. At the end of the day, she added, the costume and the makeup and the flipper and the plaster all come off, leaving a normal child with a normal life played out for normal reality television cameras.
Later, Honey Boo Boo very matter-of-factly informed hosts Brooke Baldwin and John Berman that she and her family are redneck and wisely advised them that they had best to “redneckognize.”
