William H. Macy gives Regis Philbin a lesson on chickens, explaining that rooters aren’t needed for egg production. But Philbin has a hard time buying it on ‘Live With Regis and Kelly.’
“You don’t need a rooster to get eggs,” said Macy, who keeps a number of hens. “You need a rooster to get chickens.”
“So, then, where do the, how do the eggs, where … ?” sputtered Philbin, clearly trying to wrap his brain around the concept. “You mean, automatically, the female chicken … just starts delivering eggs, every day for the rest of her life, without anybody bothering her, looking at her, nothing? Are you sure, Bill?”
“I’m eating the eggs!” said Macy. “I would know this!”
